Back when women were scarce in medical school, male students tended to resent the presence of female classmates. One group of men decided they would do something about it. They took a preserved arm from one of the gross anatomy cadavers and placed it in the female student's bed, hoping to 'encourage' her to drop out. The next morning, the woman was found gnawing on the cadaverous arm. The prank had driven her insane. She was confined to a mental hospital, and spent the rest of her life in a bed on a ward, heavily sedated to keep her from taking bites out of her own arm.
