After WWII, powdered foods began making their way to consumers in Europe, and were a bit of a novelty. A family in Romania got a package from relatives in the United States that had a jar full of powder. Assuming it was a powdered drink mix, they made up a batch and shared it. A couple of days later an apologetic letter arrived from the senders of the jar, saying they had forgotten to put in the note that the jar contained the remains of Uncle Constantin, who as his last request asked to be scattered in his native homeland. In some versions, it's mistaken for flour, condiments, or soup mix. In other versions the cremains are baked into a cake or pudding, the mistake is found in time, and a priest is called to bless the baked goods which are then buried in a grave.
